Closing ChurchesNowadays, churches are hardly ever full in The Netherlands, and many are closed. The buildings are given a variety of new destinations, often as an apartment complex, some as offices, and one even as a supermarket. Probably the best know former church is the Paradiso pop temple that opened its doors in 1968. Although relatively small, Paradiso is world-famous and known for its superb atmosphere.
