ZeedijkThe Zeedijk is one of the oldest streets of Amsterdam. This used to be the dyke that protected Amsterdam from the sea. "Zee" means sea, "dijk" means dyke: Seadyke. Once infamous for its brothels, later for it's heroin junkies, it is now well worth a visit again. The Zeedijk offers some of the nicest old bars anywhere. "In 't Aepjen", Zeedijk 1, even dates back to medieval times.
